Indianapolis, Ind. – A third record is broken this week by the SBU student-athletes as 73 Bearcats earn the GLVC Brother James Gaffney Distinguished Scholar Award. This award is presented annually to student-athletes who achieved a 4.0 grade point average during the course of the academic year.
 
SBU women's track and field led all Bearcat teams with nine Gaffney award winners, closely followed by three teams that had seven (football, men's track and field, and men's soccer. A full list of student-athletes who earned this distinguished honor can be found here.
