Rolla, Mo. – SBU women's track and field team brought their stellar indoor season into outdoor season with big marks and strong finishes at the Miner Invite. The team hit two National marks to go along with numerous 1
st place finishes to begin the outdoor journey.
After taking the top-4 spots in the 2025 GLVC Outdoor T&F Championships, the SBU Javelin team took the top-4 spots at this meet. All-American
Savannah Manthey highlighted the event hitting a mark of 46.90 meters good enough for the 4
th best mark in the Nation. Freshman
Alexis Turner also hit a National mark in javelin and 2
nd place in this meet with a mark of 42.45 meters. Alexis O'Farrell and
Hope Woodall rounded it out with 3
rd and 4
th place respectively.
Junior
Laura Dixon continued her stellar career with two top-2 finishes at this meet, including a 1
st place in the 200-meter dash. Later in the meet she notched a 2
nd place finish in the 100-meter dash. Sophomore
Natalie Gerdes started out her outdoor season strong taking 1
st place in the 1500m with a time of 4:47.38.
The Bearcats will return to action next weekend in their annual home Bearcat Invite. This will take place in Bolivar from March 26
th to 28
th at Plaster Stadium.
