Rolla, Mo. – SBU men's track and field team began their 2026 outdoor season Friday and Saturday at the Miner Invite, hosted by Missouri S&T. The team captured three 1
st place finishes to start the outdoor in stellar fashion.
Freshman James Hunter captured two of those first-place finishes, one alone and one as a member of a relay team. The first top finish came in the 400-meter dash running a time of 48.97, one of the top-10 times in SBU history. Later he joined
Cade Nold,
Andrew Rhoades and
Reid Harrison to run a 3:16.52 for another 1
st place finish in the 4x400-meter relay.
Ellis Joslin took his 3
rd place finish at the GLVC Indoor Championships and started outdoor season with a 1
st place in the pole vault at the Miner Invite. He vaulted a mark of 4.70m, one of the top three marks in SBU history.
Other top finishes came from the 4x100-meter relay who took 2
nd place which included
Dalvin Adams,
Reid Harrison,
Jordan Noel, and
Fisher Love. Gavin Duscherer took 2
nd in the 1500-meter run with his brother Landon not far behind in 6
th.
Tyler Hart added a 2
nd place finish in the shot put and
Andrew Jacobs took 2
nd in the long jump.
The Bearcats will return to action next weekend in their annual home Bearcat Invite. This will take place in Bolivar from March 26
th to 28
th at Plaster Stadium.
