Bolivar, Mo. – SBU head football coach Paul Hansen is excited to announce Ben Brummer as the new defensive line coach. Brummer joins the Coach Hansen again after being a member of his staff at Mid-America Nazarene and Southwestern Assemblies of God.
 
"I'm very excited to add Coach Brummer to our staff and get to coach with him again" Hansen said, "Coach Brummer has a great track record and is very familiar with the GLVC. His experience in the conference will help elevate our players."
 
Prior to joining the Bearcats, he was at Waldorf University as the defensive line coach for two seasons. The four years before that, he was a crucial member of the Mid-America Nazarene coaching staff under Coach Hansen. Where they won their 1^st conference championships in 10 years and he coached three All-Conference players.
 
Brummer is already experienced in the Great Lakes Valley Conference as he spent two seasons as a member of the Missouri S&T Coaching staff. As a Miner, he helped lead the team to 17 wins in two seasons and the 2018 Mineral Water-Bowl Champions. He coached an All-American, Bo Brooks, while at S&T.
 
His first time with Coach Hansen was with Southwestern Assemblies of God (SAGU) as a graduate assistant where he coached the safeties. Brummer graduated from SAGU with an M.A. in Organizational Leadership in 2017. He earned his bachelor's degree in Sports Management and Christian Biblical Studies from Crown College where he was a defensive back and linebacker.

Brummer joins the Bearcat family with his wife Michaela and their two children, Otto and Darcy.
