Bolivar, Mo. – The SBU women's cross-country team began their season Friday night as they raced on their home course in the Bearcat Invitational. The team finished in 3
rd place out of 12 teams.
Senior
Olivia Littleton outperformed nearly all 114 athletes finishing in 3
rd place, giving the Bearcats a team low three points. Three other Bearcats finished in the top-20 with freshman
Natalie Gerdes leading those finishing in 12
th place with a time of 18:49.52.
Lily Hunsucker and
Kiersten Potter were the next two to finish for SBU ending in 16
th and 17
th place respectively. Rounding out the scoring was junior Ellie Kitchen who finished in 22
nd place.
Southwest Baptist will be back in action next Friday, September 13
th as they compete in the Springfield Twilight. This event hosted by Drury University, takes place in Springfield, Missouri at the Betty and Bobby Allison Sports Town.
