Bolivar, Mo. – The SBU women's cross-country team began their season Friday night as they raced on their home course in the Bearcat Invitational. The team finished in 3^rd place out of 12 teams.
 
Senior Olivia Littleton outperformed nearly all 114 athletes finishing in 3^rd place, giving the Bearcats a team low three points. Three other Bearcats finished in the top-20 with freshman Natalie Gerdes leading those finishing in 12^th place with a time of 18:49.52. Lily Hunsucker and Kiersten Potter were the next two to finish for SBU ending in 16^th and 17^th place respectively. Rounding out the scoring was junior Ellie Kitchen who finished in 22^nd place.
 
Southwest Baptist will be back in action next Friday, September 13^th as they compete in the Springfield Twilight. This event hosted by Drury University, takes place in Springfield, Missouri at the Betty and Bobby Allison Sports Town.
