Bolivar, Mo. – SBU football head coach Robert Clardy will be entering his 10th season at the helm of the Bearcats. The alumnus and record holding quarterback is the all-time winningest head coach in SBU football history with 37 wins.

Clardy led the program to their best finish in 2016, claiming a GLVC championships and an NCAA National Tournament berth. He earned GLVC coach of the year after going 10-2 (7-1 GLVC) and being ranked as high as 15th in the National poll. He guided the squad to an outstanding finish as well as breaking 13 team records and 15 individual records while accruing 19 All-GLVC and 10 All-Region honors.

The former quarterback started his coaching career leading the offense and returned offensive duties during the 2021 season. During those two seasons, Clardy led the Bearcat offense to one of the top passing offenses in the country. In those same two years, he coached Cooper Callis to two GLVC Offensive Player of the year awards and the GLVC Scholar Athlete of the year (programs' first).

Across his 10 years at the helm, Clardy has coached 11 total All-American awards, 11 All-Region Awards, 4 GLVC Player of the Year Awards, 3 Elite 100 athletes, and 31 All-GLVC 1st team awards. One of his biggest wins came this past season, as he and the Bearcats defeated #21 ranked Truman State 20-17, his first ever win against a Nationally ranked team.

Clardy resides in Bolivar with his wife Krysten (a 2009 SBU graduate and All-MIAA soccer player for the Bearcats), their two daughters Addyson and Brooklynn, and son Lawson.
