Indianapolis, Ind. - For the fifth time in her career and second consecutive possibility for the award, Elysia Burgos has been named the GLVC Runner of the Week. SBU has competed twice this season, and Burgos has won the award following both competitions. She also earned USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week award last Tuesday. This week, Burgos competed at the MSSU Stampede, taking 5th place out of 252 athletes. Her time of 17:07.3 was her fastest 5K time and the second fastest in school history. In addition, that time on Saturday was the best in the GLVC and the third-best among all DII athletes. Burgos and the rest of the team will be back in action on Saturday, October 2 in Arkansas.
