Indianapolis, Ind. – The Great Lakes Valley Conference released the All-Conference Football awards Wednesday morning. Junior quarterback Cooper Callis was named Offensive Player of the Year, and 10 Bearcats were named to the All-GLVC teams. Three members of the SBU football team received 1st Team honors and seven were named honorable mentions.

Since joining the GLVC in 2014, the SBU Football program has had two Offensive Players of the Year. Cooper Callis earned the program's second, following his stellar performance in the spring 2021 season. Over the three game stretch, Callis threw for 1,106 yards and 10 touchdowns, completing 76-120 passes. His passing yards, touchdown passes, and total offense per game (404.0) led the conference. In addition to this prestigious award, Callis was named to the All-GLVC First Team and was SBU's James R. Spalding Sportsmanship honoree.

Curtis Cuillard and Aaron Harris were the other Bearcats named to the All-GLVC First Team. Cuillard hauled in 22 receptions for 298 yards and 4 touchdowns in the spring. He was on his way to a monster game against William Jewell before getting hurt, catching 8 passes for 142 yards and a touchdown in the first half. Aaron Harris led the SBU defense, collecting 24 total tackles, making 2 interceptions, 1 pass break up, and picking up half of a sack. He helped prevent Truman State from scoring right before the half, picking off the Bulldogs quarterback in the end zone to send the teams to the locker room with a 17-13 TSU lead.

The seven Bearcats named All-GLVC Honorable Mentions were Killian Carper, Chance Deitz, Jordan Kent, Troy Landon, Bryton Lewi, Dami Oyesanya, and Nathan Schaffner. Killian Carper played in all 3 games, collecting 2 sacks and forcing a fumble. Chance Deitz played in 2 games, serving a big role in the SBU offense.
